Put simply, vocational training is available to anyone resident in Belfast.

There is, of course, a selection process which begins with completing a simple application form.

The next stage involves an informal interview to establish the commitment and training history of the applicant and if necessary, as assessment. Applicants will be informed of the outcome at the time of interview.

Call to interview will depend on the details provided on the application form and acceptance to any specific course willl be subject to the eligibility criteria laid down by the validating authority.

The interview process will be very informal and will provide an opportunity for us to get to know you, and answer any questions you may have about training with BCTL.

During the interview, applicants will be expected to convince us that :

They are committed to completing a challenging training programme
They have the self discipline to apply themselves to study
They really want to do this course and why
That they would comply with all the conditions relating to participation on the course - see here for details of the Learning Contract.

No one will pretend that training with us won't be challenging - Remember, it is up to YOU to convince the selection panel to select you!
