The Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Course
The aim of this one day course is to provide food handlers with a fundamental knowledge of food hygiene and to enable them to apply this knowledge to essential practical skills in order to prevent food poisoning.

Course Structure
The course is six hours duration
Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for those handling open food particularly in view of the requirements of the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995, which requires food handlers to be trained commensurate to the activity.
Examination
The test comprises a multi-choice paper.
Award
Successful candidates receive the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health's Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
A food hygiene handbook will be issued to all course members.
