The level 1 qualification is designed to accredit the skills necessary
for working in the retail and/or distributive environment. It
allows candidates to prove they have the skills to work in a range
of activities within the industry, such as keeping the workplace
healthy and secure, managing stock levels and giving customers
the best impression. At level 2 and 3 candidates specialise in
distribution and warehousing. The awards cover the skills which
will be required across workplaces in the industry, whilst allowing
the candidates to specialise in areas such as the storage and
handling of high risk goods and materials. The award at level
3 includes the skills necessary for the management of sophisticated
stock storage and distribution systems, as well as providing the
opportunity for candidates to develop people and resource management
skills.
