Learners at Level 2 should demonstrate their competence in several areas related to beauty therapy including health & safety, salon duties, facials and make-up techniques, and ear piercing. The level 3 award is for those with a fairly high level of experience and authority, and covers additional areas such as improving client services, epilation and aromatherapy treatment.

Target Audience
NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy is suitable for those wishing to pursue a career in beauty therapy and work in a beauty salon.
Course Objective
To attain the skills and knowledge necessary to assist and perform basic beauty treatments and provide a basis for further study.
Course Content
Units include improve facial skin condition to fulfiling salon reception duties.
Assessment
To achieve this qualification a total of 9 units must be completed, plus the relevant key skills. This is achieved by building a portfolio of evidence containing workplace observations, testimonies from other people, work records and questions.

Target Audience
This qualification is suitable for those who have successfully completed level 2 and are wishing to progress their beuaty therapy career in a supervisory capacity whilst in full time employment.
Course Objective
To attain the skills and knowledge necessary at a supervisory level.
Course Content
Units include treating clients using body massage techniques to finanical effectiveness of the business. A total of 6 mandatory units and 3 optional units to be completed.
Assessment
To achieve this qualification a total of 9 units must be completed. this is achieved by building a portfolio of evidence containing workplace observations, testimonies from other people, work records and questions.
